Nonsurgical Fat Reduction Procedures in NYC
Chances are you have some stubborn body fat somewhere on your body. You know the type: fat that tends to accumulate at the belly, butt, hips, thighs, and upper arms, and no matter how much you exercise or diet, it just never seems to go away. When the usual weight-loss efforts fail, you may need some outside assistance to get the body improvements you want.
At Glamoi Med Spa, we have a number of different nonsurgical options for clients who want inches gone from specific areas of the body, fast. These popular fat-reduction methods include:
Losing inches at the waist, arms, and thighs can not only make you feel healthier, stronger, and more flexible, but you’ll notice a difference in how your clothes fit. Others will notice, too.
Stubborn Fat? It’s Not You
Don’t feel bad about asking for help to get rid of unwanted body fat. Often, there are factors outside your control that result in you packing on the pounds in certain areas. Gender, age, fluctuating hormones, and the presence of certain medical conditions can all impact how easily you gain weight and exactly where in your body that fat is stored.
Some of the most common problem areas that we treat include:
Men and women alike develop back fat. It can accumulate in all areas of the back but is often most noticeable in women at the upper back, where a bra strap sits. This can be particularly bothersome when wearing close-fitting clothing, as back fat can appear to wrap around a bra strap.
One of the biggest complaints people have when it comes to excess fat is being able to pinch-an-inch (or more) at the belly and waist. Men tend to store fat here far more often than women do – although women with hormonal imbalances (due to pregnancy or menopause) may also be more likely to store fat at the abdomen.
Belly fat is sometimes referred to with a variety of slang terms which are distinguished from one another by exactly where the fat is stored, for example: “muffin top” (when belly fat spills over the front and sides of pants), “pooch” (a distended area of fat between the belly button and groin), or “spare tire” (excess fat all around the waist).
Excess abdominal fat is associated with a higher than average risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and colon cancer. That’s because the fat is not just under skin (as is the case with excess fat at the thighs, butt, or arms), but also present deeper in the belly, where it surrounds and may damage vital internal organs.
When the pectoral muscles of the chest are not kept toned with exercise, the area can become flabby. This is especially noticeable in men, which is why fat in this area is often referred to as man boobs.
Also called submental fat, a double chin describes the roll of fat that can form beneath the chin. When you gain weight, the area under the chin is just one of many places extra fat is stored. This type of body fat is a particularly difficult area to target.
Women are prone to excess fat building up at the hips, thighs, and butt. When weight gain occurs predominantly in these areas, it creates the common “pear” body shape. Extra fat at the hips, thighs, and buttocks is also referred to as love handles, saddle bags, and more.
Fat deposits that build up in the area between your elbow and upper arm are fairly common. Flabby upper arms tend to jiggle with certain arm movements. Women with underarm fat may tend to avoid sleeveless clothing in an effort to keep the area hidden. Men who regularly worked out then suddenly stopped may end up with flabby underarm fat.
